TTUKa radar update

The TTUKa radar team began daily test scans for data availability / coherency today at noon. Today's (and future) test scans were performed at the TTUKa1 deployment site northwest of the BAO tower. As expected, the air was very clean with no coherent velocities, thus precluding operations for today. Scanning time for the test this morning was 18 minutes. Combined with the deployment on March 4 and continued testing on March 5, total minutes scanned for XPIA currently stands at 510 of 7200 available minutes.

We were successful in installing a hydraulic fluid warming system yesterday as well as resolving generator and leveling issues (for now). An offset was noted in TTUKa1 level sensor such that the data collected on March 4 will require an offset to be level. These offsets have been recorded and the level sensor of TTUKa1 adjusted accordingly. We anticipate that these systems should continue to perform optimally given the current temperature forecast, but we do have contingency plans in place in the event of more extreme cold temperatures (from a Texan's perspective....).

We will conduct another test scan tomorrow at 12 pm and will post an update afterward.
