The remarks for this time period are as follows: Sounding occurred just minutes after local sunrise. Sky 90% covered with thick upper level cirrostratus and altostratus clouds. Cool surface temperatures. Gentle surface breeze with small moderate gusts. Shallow morning Stable Boundary Layer around 70-100m depth. Deep transition zone from ABL to free troposphere, expected with longwave cloud radiative forcing, so not deep Stable Noctural Boundary Layer. Still very dry conditions near the surface, but upper levels are moistening as a weak upper level trough moves through the area with some quasi-geostrophic vertical ascent and a cool front passage tonight. Expect upslope topographical flow to emerge this evening with some limited precipitation in the area.
